One man alone on a spaceship, not a new concept. However, it is a perfect setup for a one-person show. Where are they coming from? Where are they going? What is the story they are going to tell? Writer/actor Zack Reardon’s Gnosis story arc moved as far as he did onstage; nowhere.

Reardon’s charismatic smile and uncanny ability to channel stillness could only hold your attention for so long. In order for those things to hit, the audience needs to connect to something. Unfortunately, the story never gave us specificity or an understanding of what was going on.

Ironically, gnosis means “knowledge” or “awareness,” but we were only privy to vague concepts and never really understood what was happening.

We watched Reardon go through an existential crisis, but never connected with him or the story, so it didn’t have the impact he was hoping we would get.

A super interesting concept with incredible potential. I’d be interested to see what could come of this piece with more attention to detail, character development, and a clear end goal.
